They later became a bit more conventional progrock, but still good though. I think all their early albums have been reissued in recent years, but they're certainly not stock for most store owners. There is a Brain reissue from 1979 with a totally different cover which isn't that expensive. There's also an unofficial reissue on the ICON Verlag label which sounds just as good as the original. Hey Enrique and thanks for stopping by and your kind comment! Yeah, I guess those labels are getting harder and harder to find anywhere. Even in Germany I suspect. The krautrock originals have gained quite a significant attention during the last years from collectors, so the prices have gone through the roof for many of the titles, unfortunately. Fortunately, there are yet some titles under the radar + there are a couple of serious reissue labels which do a great job making top quality reisues. A couple of them are Guerssen, Longhair and Garden Of Delights. If you can track down any titles on those labels it's worth getting those. I have quite a few of those myself. Take care! Nico

It was my initial intention starting this channel to shed some light on obscure and unknown albums and bands which I like. The Brain label has a lot of awesome albums in their catalogue, but labels such as Ohr, BASF, Pilz and Kosmische Kuriere also had a lot of great titles. I only have one Catapilla original myself. A German swirl though. I have held an original Linda Hoyle in my hands, but it was way out of my reach financially. I'm contemplating getting A Ballad Of A Peacful Man. I have a VG+ copy at hand, but it's quite expensive. It's the only original I'm missing from a complete Gravy Train discography. Hey Peter! It certainly has been a while. It's good to hear from you. Are you still making videos? I have been out of the loop for a long time now. I have some catching up to do. Ardo Dombec, Birth Control and Dies Irae have been reissued properly, but unfortunately Satin Whale has never been properly reissued on LP. There are a couple of reissues of Janus, but some of them are dodgy I think. Thanks for the recommendation on the Eiliff archival releases. I'll be sure to check them out. Take care! Nico

There are definitely cross references between early Pink Floyd and Amon Düül II. If Pink Floyd were a German band I think they would have been considered "founding fathers" of the krautrock scene.

@@NicoMalcolm there was a band from the late 60s called silver apples.they were from new York.i recommend checking them out,if you haven't done so already.they sounded years ahead of their time
